Generally, this whole process can take two or three office visits. Your new patient experience consists of a records appointment, a comprehensive exam, all necessary x-rays, and your first hygiene visit.
During this time you can settle back into our massage chairs and listen to the music of your choice. Using our digital X-rays and intraoral cameras, we’ll get a thorough look at the interior of your mouth. You’ll see, too, on our convenient chairside monitors.
Our gentle hygienist will check your teeth and gums for signs of gum disease or damage, then clean your teeth to bring back their pearly shine. Cosmetic and general dentist Dr. Whitmore will check your teeth for decay using touch-less DIAGNOdent, a laser wand that searches out hidden cavities, without the necessity for a metal dental probe. Once your exam, including an oral cancer screening, is completed, you and Dr. Whitmore will decide together on the best course of action.
