The Snap-On Smile was invented by Dr. Marc Leichtung, a dentist from New York. It's a fairly simple concept. It's made out of a crystallized acetyl resin, which is a tough, flexible resin that can be made in the shape of a beautiful smile. Its flexbility allows it to snap on over your existing teeth, and its toughness makes it strong enough to eat on.
Of course, it won't be nearly as beautiful as a set of porcelain veneers. But it looks reasonably nice, and is very affordable. If you are unhappy with your smile and can't afford a complete smile makeover, the Snap-On Smile could be used for special events like weddings or class reunions, for applying for a job, or other purposes. It can be used as a provisional restoration while you are waiting for dental implants to heal, or to test a new smile design.
The manufacturers say that it is tough enough to last four years.
