I want to whiten my teeth, but I have three crowns. Can I whiten them?

Unfortunately, dental work, such as crowns or porcelain veneers don’t whiten. You can whiten your other teeth, but your dental work will remain the same. All is not lost, though. If it means that much to you, I would do the teeth whitening. Then you can have your porcelain crowns re-done to match the color of your new sparkling teeth.
One word of advice. Make sure your dentist gives you all-porcelain crowns. If you get the porcelain fused to metal type, eventually you will have a dark grey line appear at your gumline, which will detract from all the great cosmetic work you just had done.
