Is there anything can be done to make my dentures more comfortable. My lower jawbone keeps losing height. This is causing the bottom plate to hit my lip crevice. This is so painful and is causing blisters. What can I do?

You are developing the condition known as facial collapse, which is one of the conditions of wearing dentures long term.. This tells me you’ve had your dentures for at least ten years. Once all your teeth are removed, your body begins reabsorbing the minerals in your jawbone. That is what is causing you to lose height in your jawbone. It is because you are losing the bone itself. Currently, the only solution is to have bone grafting done to increase the amount of bone you have. Even then, the condition will just repeat itself unless you get dental implants rather than dentures.
I’m sure you’re miserable right now, as many denture patients in your situation are as well. Dental implants will make you feel like you have a new lease on life. They act just like your natural teeth. You’ll be able to go back to eating anything you want, and they are considerably more comfortable. The downside is they are most expensive than dentures.
